Home destroyed in late night fire
ERMA - A mobile home was destroyed by fire overnight Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Police say the 9-1-1 call came in at about 1:20 a.m. from a resident at the Cape May Mobile Estates off Route 109 in Erma. The man reported that his home was engulfed in fire.
Owner Scott Fabian told police hw believed the fire started in the bathroom.
He was the only one home at the time of the fire.
Police and the rescue squad joined all three of the Lower Township volunteer fire companies to fight the blaze, and to try to keep it from spreading. It took about 15 minutes to be brought under control, according to police.
The Lower Township Police Department and the Cape May County Fire Marshal's office are investigating the fire, which police do not believe was suspicious.
